Daphine L. "Dee" Pastuszka of Carpentersville Daphine L. "Dee" Pastuszka, 85, passed away on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Provena-St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. Dee was born on Nov. 22, 1926, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Pearl (nee Callahan) Brown. On Sept. 13, 1947, she married Edward J. Pastuszka. Ed preceded Dee in death on Dec. 9, 1994, after celebrating 47 year of marriage. Dee was a 55-year resident of the Carpentersville area. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Carpentersville and a member and past president of the Carpentersville VFW #5915 Women's Auxiliary. Survivors include her children, Catherine (Rodger) Miller of Carpentersville, Marilyn (Charlie) Rickey of Indianapolis, Ind., Mary (Steve) Daggett of Sioux Falls, S.D., Janet of Carpentersville, Judith King of Port Huron, Mich., Raymond of Carpentersville, Stanley (Kim) of Georgia and Richard (Barbara) of Alabama. Dee is also survived by her 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Jane Tracy; her brothers, Elroy, Harold (Imogene), Claude (Iona) and Benjamin Brown; and many nieces, nephews and countless friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Dee was preceded in death by her daughter, DeLoris in infancy; her son, Edward J. Jr.; and a grandson, Charles Rickey. Funeral services will begin Friday at 9:15 a.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee, proceeding to St. Monica Church, Carpentersville, for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 3 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Please omit flowers. For information, 847-426-3436.
